Aulani Dining Plan: Everything You Need to Know

Are you planning a trip to Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii? If so, you may be wondering about the dining options available and whether a dining plan is worth it. In this article, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the Aulani dining plan, including what it is, how it works, the pros and cons, and what others have to say about it.

What is the Aulani Dining Plan?

The Aulani dining plan is a pre-paid meal plan that allows guests to enjoy a variety of dining options at the resort. The plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner at select restaurants, as well as snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. There are two different plans to choose from: the Disney Dining Plan and the Deluxe Dining Plan.

The Disney Dining Plan includes one quick-service meal, one table-service meal, and two snacks per person, per day. The Deluxe Dining Plan includes three meals (either quick-service or table-service) and two snacks per person, per day. Both plans also include a refillable drink mug that can be used at any self-service beverage station at the resort.

How Does it Work?

If you decide to purchase the Aulani dining plan, you will receive credits that can be used to pay for meals and snacks at participating restaurants. When you arrive at a restaurant, simply present your room key or MagicBand to the server and they will deduct the appropriate number of credits from your account.

It’s important to note that not all restaurants at Aulani participate in the dining plan, so be sure to check the list of participating locations before making your reservations. You can also make reservations up to 180 days in advance by calling the dining reservation center or booking online.

The Pros and Cons of the Aulani Dining Plan

Like any dining plan, there are pros and cons to consider before purchasing the Aulani dining plan.

Pros

  • Convenience: With a pre-paid meal plan, you don’t have to worry about carrying cash or credit cards to pay for your meals.
  • Savings: Depending on your dining habits, the dining plan can save you money compared to paying for meals out of pocket. Plus, the refillable drink mug can save you money on beverages throughout your stay.
  • Variety: The dining plan allows you to try different restaurants and cuisines that you may not have otherwise considered.

Cons

  • Cost: The dining plan can be expensive, especially if you don’t plan on eating full meals every day.
  • Restrictions: The dining plan credits can only be used at participating restaurants, which may limit your options.
  • Unused Credits: If you don’t use all of your credits by the end of your stay, you will lose them.

What Others Have to Say About the Aulani Dining Plan

Here are some comments from people who have used the Aulani dining plan:

  • “The dining plan was a great value for us. We ate at some amazing restaurants and saved money compared to paying for everything out of pocket.” – Sarah B.
  • “The only downside was that we didn’t use all of our credits, so we felt like we didn’t get our money’s worth.” – John D.
  • “I loved the variety of restaurants available with the dining plan. We tried so many new foods and had some great experiences.” – Lisa M.

Summary

The Aulani dining plan can be a convenient and cost-effective way to enjoy a variety of dining options at the resort. However, it’s important to consider the pros and cons and whether the plan makes sense for your particular travel style and budget. With a little research and planning, you can make the most of your dining experience at Aulani.
